We never collect anything without asking, and we never collect who you are or what you listen to. Right now the Attune app collects nothing at all, and this website stores an email address only if you choose to give us one.
These are not settings you can turn on. We do not collect them and do not intend to build the ability to: your identity, your contact details, your listening history, the contents of your music library, your file paths, or anything else that could be tied back to you as a person. A tuning you make is yours; what you play through it is not our business.
Proof has no account, no analytics, no crash reporting and no telemetry, and nothing you measure leaves your device unless you export it yourself. We operate no service for it to send anything to.
Buying Proof, restoring a purchase, or seeing its prices goes through the App Store. That connection is Apple's, on Apple's terms, and the transaction is between you and Apple. Nothing about your measurements is in it.
Proof asks for the microphone permission, and it needs it for an ordinary reason: on iOS every audio input arrives through that one permission, including a USB or Thunderbolt audio interface. Proof reads the input while a measurement is running and while a live tool is on screen, and it does so to measure the signal — nothing is recorded for any other purpose, nothing is transmitted, and nothing is retained beyond the measurement record you asked for.
A measurement record is a readable text file containing the audio measurements themselves — curves, levels and the identity of the interface they were taken on. It is written to the app's own documents folder on your device. It is yours: you can read it, verify it, delete it, or export it, and we never receive a copy.
Attune currently collects, stores, transmits, and shares nothing. It runs entirely on your Mac, has no network access, and contains no analytics, telemetry, or tracking of any kind. Audio files you choose are read locally only to play them. Nothing about your music library, your listening, or your tunings ever leaves your device.
Something you send yourself. If you use Have feedback?, the app writes a message and opens it in your mail client, with the technical context it attaches (app version, macOS version, output device, which headphone pair is loaded) shown to you in the window before you send it. You send it; we don't.
We may one day want crash reports, so bugs get fixed without someone having to write in, or anonymous results from the listening exam, so the house target improves for everyone. If we build either, all of the following are binding: it is off by default; we ask once, in plain language, and say what it's for; you can see the exact payload before you agree and any time after; one click turns it off permanently; and this page is updated first, before the feature ships, never after. Still nothing from the list above, and still nothing tied to you. A pre-ticked box, a consent bundled into something else, or a friendly dialog that defaults to yes would all break that promise, so we won't use them.
If you enter your email address in a signup, waitlist, measurement-request or feedback form, we use it only to reply and to contact you about Warren Labs. It is stored by our form provider (Formspree) and by us, and is never sold or shared with advertisers. Ask us to delete it at any time. The site sets no advertising or cross-site tracking cookies. The feedback form attaches the page you were on, your window size and your browser version, shown to you before you send, and email is optional there.
We count visits with Plausible, and it is worth saying exactly what that does and does not do. It records the page, the referring site, rough country, and device type. It sets no cookies, stores nothing on your device, assigns you no identifier, and cannot follow you to any other website. There is no profile of you, here or anywhere, and nothing it collects is personal data, which is why this site has never asked you to accept a cookie banner and still doesn’t. Aggregate numbers are visible to us only. If you would rather not be counted at all, any tracker blocker will stop it, and nothing on the site breaks if you do.
FastSpring is the merchant of record for purchases, meaning the legal seller. You enter your payment details on their checkout, not on ours. We never see or store your card number, and there is no version of our systems where we could: it never reaches us. FastSpring keeps its own records as the seller, under its own privacy policy.
What reaches us is your name, email address, and what you bought. We need the first two to issue your licence and to answer you if something breaks, and the third to know which product you're asking about. We don't build a profile from it, we don't enrich it with data bought from anyone, and it is never sold or shared with advertisers.
Your licence file carries your name and email inside it, signed. That is what makes it yours rather than a code anyone could pass around. It lives on your machine and is never uploaded. The plugin verifies it offline and has no network access at all.
Licences, download links and update notices are sent through Resend, our email provider. If you buy a product, you will get emails about that product: the licence itself, and a note when it updates. That is part of buying it, and we tell you so at the point of purchase rather than burying it here.
Hearing about other Warren Labs tools is a separate, unticked box you have to choose. We don't pre-tick it, we don't bundle it into the purchase, and not ticking it costs you nothing. Every email we send has a real one-click unsubscribe that works immediately.
If you send a headphone in, we need your name and address to ship it back, and we keep them for that. Published measurements carry a credit line only in the form you choose: your name, a handle, or nothing at all.
Attune earns nothing from what you decide to buy, so the app has no reason to want a profile of you. Not collecting it isn't a sacrifice; it's just what this product doesn't need.
